Whether it’s a moisture barrier you want, something to reduce ambient noise, or an underlay with low thermal resistance for UFH, OakFloorsOnline can supply it. Here’s a brief introduction to all our products, along with their recommended use and their design qualities and features; For Moisture Protection Underlay with integrated DPM for moisture protection. Comfort Silver – 15 x 1m Roll Size This is an excellent product that provides superb performance and incredible value for money. It has an integrated silver aluminium foil vapour barrier, along with a 200mm ‘over/under’ overlap to ensure protection from moisture attack from the subfloor. It’s 3mm nominal thickness is sufficient to reduce ambient noise (18 dB sound reduction) and reduce subfloor imperfections. Perfect for use with UFH because of its low thermal resistance (0.5 TOG rating). A great all-round performer. Sonic Gold – 15 x 1m Roll Size Provides exceptional performance as a vapour barrier because of its double integrated DPM; gold foil surface and black LDPE underside, both with 200mm ‘over/under’ overlap. Excellent acoustic properties (22 dB sound reduction) and is suitable for use with UFH, having a TOG rating of 0.9. It’s 5mm nominal thickness is superb for cancelling out subfloor imperfections. A top quality underlay, with all the attributes and features of much more expensive products available. Self-Adhesive Multi-Plus A self-adhesive underlay with a gold metallic DPM underside that allows wood flooring (solid or engineered) to be stuck down onto the surface by peeling back a membrane once the flooring has been positioned. This method is said to save up to 60% on time and effort when installing a solid oak floor, when compared with the glue down method. For Noise Reduction Underlay that reduces ambient sound, either within the room (echo) or below. Sika Silent Layer Mat – 12.5m2 Roll – for use with Sika Liquid Batten system A pre-cut, sound deadening slotted acoustic mat for use with the Liquid Batten system, especially for use on 1st floor and above installations for ambient noise reduction. 28 dB sound reduction Sonic Gold – as above description 22 dB sound reduction. Comfort Silver – as above description 18 dB sound reduction. For Under Floor Heating Most UFH manufacturers specify that an underlay with a TOG rating of below 1.5 is recommended. QuickTherm – 10 x 1m Roll Size Specially designed for installation between wood flooring and UFH, being composed of very dense and lightweight closed cell polyethylene foam that’s perforated to allow maximum heat transfer. Very low TOG rating of 0.35 Comfort Silver – as above description TOG rating of o.5. Sonic Gold – as above description TOG rating of 0.9.
